Jakarta Intends to Upgrade Many MSMEs

The Jakarta Industry, Trade, Cooperatives, Small and Medium Enterprises Agency (PPKUKM) continues to encourage MSMEs to develop their businesses and improve the quality of their products so they can move up in class.

The entrepreneur's product sales turnover on e-order has reached more than Rp 277 billion

It is intended to maintain economic stability and increase people's income.

Jakarta PPKUKM Agency Head, Elisabeth Ratu Rante Allo expressed as many as 367,769 MSMEs have registered as Jakpreneur members and it continues to increase as the program continues to be socialized.

"Various efforts have been taken, thus they (MSME) can improve the quality of their products and move up in class. It includes building cross-sector synergies with the government, private sector, banking, domestic, and foreign companies, and other MSME players," she expressed, as quoted by Jakarta PPID's press release, Monday (9/11).

Through the Jakpreneur program, they could more easily develop their business through the various facilities provided, such as gaining broad insight into trade, business development, and financial circulation in creating a business to be more orderly and developing a more extensive market reach.

It was also in line with the Acting Governor's direction who requested that the growth in the number of MSMEs in the capital be properly monitored, as well as providing support through various programs that could support skills and independence in their businesses.

"The cross-sector synergy that we continue to build is none other than, thus MSMEs in Jakarta can continue to grow and develop well. Of course, this is an encouragement for us to keep accompanying and helping them in their business journey until they can advance to class," she explained.

Until Saturday (9/9) night, her agency noted that as many as 42,444 participants had reactivated Jakarta Entrepreneur. Then as many as 235,369 others took part in training, 215,404 for mentoring, 199,822 for licensing, 58,134 for marketing, 40,207 for financial reporting, and 8,708 participants for capital.

Her agency had also developed various strategies to look for opportunities for economic improvement, including the use of e-order systems and business matching activities

"Until now, the entrepreneur's product sales turnover on e-order has reached more than Rp 277 billion," she said.
